So while we were on our cruise, one of our friends and fellow cruisers had a birthday. My mom and I decided we should help her celebrate. We went and talked the daycare center on board into letting us have a poster board, and we commenced with decorating her cabin door. We were having a good old time, until we heard the birthday girl and her husband coming down the hall. If there is one thing my mother has taught me, its not to get caught in a prank. So what did we do? We ran into the "Crew Only" door across the hall...

We made it in there without them finding us, and it was all fine and good until a crew member came, who was actually allowed access into this mystery door into which we had intruded. We got nothing more than a funny look, but we were scared out of our minds. Now looking back I wonder what we thought they might have done to us? Thrown us overboard? But it made for an amazing adventure!

Sadies! 2010

We had such an amazing night! Our theme was "Mario Party" (hence the cool hats). For our "day date" (but really it was like a "night before date") My wonderful mother made an Amazing Race game for us (with much help from Blake and Bre and Dad) we had a blast driving around town and doing little tasks to get our next clue.Our starting point was the Ammon Walmart and our endpoint being the Walmart on the west side, we covered a lot of ground! Then we went to our friend's house for a bon fire. It was super fun!

Then, the night of the actual dance, we met at the pier down by the river for pictures! There was a girl in our group, whose dad offered to take our pictures. They turned our really cute! As you can see here, we tried to "play it cool" but that didn't last for long..

Then after pictures, we blindfolded the guys and we were off to the rest of our date. We commenced to pretend to get lost. We put our acting skills to work. We acted like I got a phone call from Dad who needed me to go lock up the twin homes that he showed today. "He was very sorry to make me do this on a date, but he couldn't make it over because he and mom were in meetings". So we continued to weave a web of (innocent) lies, that let our dates to believe that Dad was having a hard time selling these because this old widow had committed suicide in it and every time he showed it, they heard footsteps. I "made them come in with me" because "i was scared" and when we walked up stairs, Blaine and Kristin (and Jessica was prepping down stairs) were there to take our orders at a nice, candle-lit dinner that we just happened to walk in on. It was a fun dinner! After which, we went to the dance, and had lots of laughs!

So here's to an amazing Sadie Hawkins night!

I am here to confess that craziness has over run my life. With piano and organ lessons, serving in Youth Committee and on a ward level, homework, work work, and yearbook.. my days seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Don't get me wrong- I love every minute of it, but as sad as it may seem, blogging has been the last thing on my mind, or maybe better put, the last thing on my to-do list. But here is my pathetic attempt at catching you all back up to speed. You will see below that I have posted the last few articles that I have submitted to the Family News Letter that goes out monthly. (Sorry to all of you who receive that letter as well-No new material. Sorry!) But here goes: the last few months in a nut shell...

So its FNL time again.. it happens so quick!

It’s a little bitter sweet to say that school is now in full swing. We are down into the nitty gritty work stuff, no more of the cheesy getting to know you games J

But it is going well. If we have to go to school, we might as well take advantage of football season part of fall right? And a good one it has been! We lost our first game to Skyline the first week of the season (that’s just because we were getting back into the groove J) and we have won the rest since (including civil war and homecoming). I mean come on- we are good! They are making a flippin movie about us!

Along with school being back in session, so is yearbook! I feel like photo shoots have been ruling my life so far! Our team just happened to get all the pages of events that happened in the couple months (civil war, homecoming, soccer, ect) so it wont be so bad once we get all the pictures taken, and then we will be done for the whole year. But I really love the journalism aspect of it all!

I also had my first seminary presidency training meeting on Friday. I am really excited for this year! Its gonna be great!

Last week on Sunday, we (the stake youth committee) put on a musical fireside titled “Coming closer to Christ Through the Power of Music” . It was so amazing! They asked me to accompany this kid who sang a song called “All times, All things, All places”. I was scared outta my mind! But it turned out ok. Then a couple weeks ago, I played a piano solo in sacrament meeting. I was honestly so scared during the song that I don’t even remember playing the last half of it, but mom and dad said I did, so hopefully it didn’t sound too bad, haha. I guess there is no time to get out or your comfort zone like the present!

It has been a little crazy now that I am a workin, tax payin citizen! (I figured them out all by myself the other day!) But I really love working for Dad! And it is also a lot better now that I know what the heck I am doin! I have been going in from about 4-6 after school on most days and it has been a blast! I feel so grown up and stuff! haha

So we will keep sluggin here and hope you all will keep doin the same! Keep up the good work! Have a good month! Love ya long time!!

What an amazing month! So much has happened!

So.. for the fourth of July, we went and froze at the parade, and enjoyed every minute of it! You know there is something wrong when you wish you would have taken your winter coat with you on the Fourth of July... Just sayin. Haha Anyway, it was a very good holiday!

We had an awesome “Disco Ball” that I helped plan for the stake youth committee. We rotate planning the quad stake dances. We had square ice cream scoops and Farr’s ice cream! And of course, a huge disco ball! And the weather even held out so we were able to continue with our plans to have it in the pavilion at the stake center. It turned out so well! and I even got to make the flyers for it! They too turned out awesome!

Then the next day, I started into panic mode getting all the last minute things done. It was so much fun being a youth leader and having the chance to be a part of all the behind the scenes stuff! We only had about seven girls total. It was so much fun! We did lots of fun crafts, watched movies with the projector, and we even taped glowstickes to our bodies and make us look like stick figures, then danced in the dark! We also had lots and lots of opportunities to feel the Spirit. I couldn’t have asked for anything more!

On the 23^rd, we “camped out” at grandmas (haha we ended up sleeping on the floor in the basement) with the cousins and then went for the annual family reunion float trip! It was pretty much a three hour water fight! No one left with ANY dry spots on them! It was so fun to spend some time with the family!

So when we returned from the trip, we were very tired, but happy! Until we looked in the fish bowl by the sink. There were two fish floating belly up L. Poor Oliver! He is no more! Thursday night I forked out twenty seven cents for a new member of the family. His name was Stanley. He didn’t even make it two whole days.. but I'm sure they are in a better place.

But on a lighter note, a couple weeks ago I started training to take over for Elsje! She will be out on maternity leave starting in September, so I am the temp! I feel like I am drowning in things still left to learn, but I am catching on fast. It has been so much fun working with her and dad and keeping up the tradition of the Murray girls working at RE/MAX!

Anyway- Lots of things have already transpired in this first month of summer!

Dad and I sang in a wicked awesome choir program. It really was very cool. It was titled America: A History Lesson. Terry Purcell wrote it and did an amazing job. I only almost passed out once after singing a really high note for a dramatic ending crescendo. It talked about how this isn’t only our land of promise, but it was also the same to the ancient people in book of mormon times. It talked about the stripling warriors and all the missionaries were read that have served missions since the ward started. Blaine was one of the five. Haha

The quad stake youth committee and I not only carried out our youth conference, we did it in style! It was a huge success! Everything ran smoothly and everyone in attendance seemed to have a blast. We played lots of fun games like flag football and musical chairs/twister/hoola hoops. And we even played human foosball (that was my game and everyone said it was the funnest. Just sayin... J ) We also tied about 36 quilts for the humanitarian center. It was so great to see all the kids descend on all the quilts and get them all done. It was definitely a memorable experience.

Speaking of memorable, JANICE KAPP PERRY! Came and spoke at our conference! It was so amazing! Alice Clegg just married her nephew. She is so witty and fun! Her husband ended his testimony telling us that we will go to hell if we listen to hard rock. We were all like.. ok? So there ya go. Haha that one got a few eyebrow raises. And I just have to tell you really quick- She was telling us how they met in college and they were in a tuba class. She had been trying to get his attention for a long time, and one day he came up to her and said “those lips look like they were made to do something more then playin that old tuba.” And they have been in love ever since. As she was finishing telling this story, he came up to her and laid a juicy one on here! Everyone started clapping… until we realized we were in the chapel…

I was at a birthday party this week at Rigby Lake. For six hours. I am burnt to a crisp… But it was tons of fun! They added a new little dock thing that’s anchored and it has a slide into the water. It was pretty fun.

I am one of two youth leaders for our double ward girl’s camp this year. It has been a blast serving with Sandi Jaussi and Mel Hart. The theme is Oh the Places you go by Dr. Seuss. All the wards have a book as their ward theme and we got the grinch stole Christmas. Hehe- needless to say, we are playing it up. We are taking a Christmas tree and lights and a fire place to hang stockings on. And we are all getting green santa hats with stripes! It has been so much fun planning it all!

Jess and I were going up to a fireside at the college, and decided to take some pictures of each other! It was so much fun and they turned out so well! Jess need to go pro. Just sayin.

Sweet 16!

The day started out like any other birthday, they announced my name on proc, Mrs. Blackburn did her amazing rendition of happy birthday on the piano and the choir harmonized. But thats when it started to get exciting. The principal came on the intercom and informed us that there was an armed robbery at the IHOP that is less that a mile from our school and that they had not caught the man. His scared-out-of-his-mind tone gave all the girls in choir permission to freak out. haha so needless to say we were on lock down for about a while.. and they say nothing exciting happens in Ammon, Idaho! When Jill tried to bring balloons, they wouldnt even let her in!

Upon walking out to my car after school , carrying the most gorgeous HUGE arrangment of roses mom and dad sent to me, i realized it looked a little.. out of the ordinary :) The girls (Brynn and Jess) had it all decorated and wouldnt let me take it off. I felt like i was in a one float parade.. I found out the next day that it is illigal to drive with things like that on your car.. good things there were no cops out.. :]

Then after going to Arctic Circle for milk shakes, i came home and we had an awesome family dinner with amazing food. I even got a princess cake! Score!

as you can tell, i wasnt too impressed. :)

So, I fixed it :) Much better!

All the out-of-towners called and i got to talk to them...

And, I got the most amazing cake pan!! It makes a cup cake the size of my head! How cool is that?!?!

So i tried it out the next day :)

Then a couple days later, Dad took me on my "first day" and showed me how I should be treated. I dont know if I will ever get married if the man has Dad's shoes to fill.... Thats a pretty big job!

So all in all, I had the most amazing birthday!!! There were so many wishes and gifts and little thoughtfull things, it made it so amazing! Thank you all!

What is Christmas without music??

That's right- nothing! :) We had our choir concert this past Monday (the 21st) and it was so much fun! The advanced women's choir 3 songs, 2 of which are a capella (without the piano) and in a different language. It was such a challenge to get them down but so much fun. My favorite one that we sang was called "Train de' Ver". It is one of the a capella ones that is french and translates to Winter Train. There wasn't many actual french words in it, most of the words were just a sting of sounds that all imitated the sound of a train coming in the beginning getting really loud in the middle and leaving at the end. Then we went a step further and added claps! It sounded amazing! Singing in this choir is so much fun! I feel like i have arrived, doing exact the things that i wantched almost all my siblings do for so long and now its my turn! haha
Blaine and Kristin were able to make it down. We had so much fun!

So we have this manger scene that my Dad's family put up when he was a kid. So Dad had a shelter built for it to protect it from the snow. We decided to put it up the other day. It seemed like we were framing in a house, seeing as how it's rather large. Like as big as our living room large. We had a blast putting it up!

We left for a trip to Topeka, Kansas to be there when Eli was born, to help my brother Blake and his family move home, and to bring his little girl with us! We had SO much fun!! It was another amazing adventure!!

This year for youth conference with our new stake, we went to Martin's Cove again. This was my third time there, but that place never ceases to amaze me. It is so great to feel that closeness to all those that suffered there. With both stakes that went, we had 8 tour busses, but we only had 4 go from our ward. so it was a huge group, but at the same time, a very close knit, tiny one. It pored rain, our bus was struck my lightning, we lived through a lethal hale storm, and two 9 hour bus rides, but we had a blast! It just made it so much more realistic. The weather was beautiful while we were at the cove, but it was raining when we left, so no one thought to put sun screen on. We got a bad sun burn and had a snowball fight, all in one day!It was great.

This year for girls camp we went to the Groburg cabin in Island Park. It was great! MommaMel Hart and Sandi Jaussi were our directors. We had so much fun! We did a death- oops i mean COPE course, floated the river, went and saw Footloose at the Playmill, and lots and lots of other amazing things!( Not to mention the 53 mesquito bites!) But other than that, it didnt even seem like camping! It was just like a big 4 day sleepover in a ginormous hotelcabin with great friends!Our theme was from Sister Daltons talk about how with the strength of the Lord, we CAN do all things. Everything was in cans. it was great!Here are some pictures from our amazing adventures!

CAMEN ISLANDS TURTLE FARM!!!!!

This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the whole trip. It was such a blast!!!! This is the only turtle farm in the world, and they grow turtles to conserve, consume, and to educate people about them.

" Welcome to the turtle farm. Have some turtle soup, but don't eat too much- they are almost extinct. " That was funny to me. Anyway- It was such a blast. I would most definitely go back there in a heart beat!!

This is me getting to hold one!!!!! It was so much fun!!! I think turtles are my new favorite animals!! Their shells are not as solid as you would think. They bend and move with them as they flap. Their skin is indescribably smooth and soft. I was in heaven!

This year for christmas, we had the pleasure of having ALL my siblings and their families here from all over the country!! It was such an amazing experience! I love them all. We went to grandma's for dinner and stuffed ourselves full( as always- she came through with the amazing food) and had a great time chilling with everyone. The Ballroom Season is Back!!

Our Ballroom team had our first show of the season. We danced at festival of the trees on November 20th. It was a blast. I love the adrenaline rush and the spot light! Its the best!! We danced to Witch Doctor from the new Alvin and the Chip monks movie. It is such a great fun dance!! Here are some picture! Enjoy!

History Projects at their Finest!!

For world history, we were assigned to make a Pharaohs Tomb model because we were studying Egyptians. We had a blast. The whole tomb was made out of sugar cubes. The coffin was two 3 musketeers bars, there were licorice and pretzel and gum drop torches, and frosting holding on brown sugar for dirt. them we added cinnamon and other spices to make the air brushed affect. Then we stole some of the boy's toy army trees. It was truly a work of art!! :)

FuFu For You!

Blaine, upon returning from the African market in Salt Lake, made the family FuFu. It was way fun! Fufu is made from cassavas, plantains, and some different types of veggies. He bought the powdered instant version and was a little disappointed that it didn't taste like the real thing, but it was fun for all of us to try it. In Africa, the pound the ingredients up until they turn to mush, then serve it with a soup. Blaine said it takes about 3-4 hours to prepare, then they have to make the soup. Definitely not Fast Food. He also said that they don't chew the glob that they break off and dip in the soup. Then they eat the bones from the chicken. I thought it wasn't that bad, and even Paige and Rylee ate some of it!!

Day of the Ducky Pajamas!

When Blake and Bre came from the far away land of Kansas, we had to much fun with them! The girls and I did hair and nails (different color every day) :) It was so much fun. Then, we found some extra fabric from when i had made pajamas sometime last year and thought 'what the heck' and made the girls some of their own. It was adorable!!!These are the cutest girls in all of Kansas!!!

Its kinda funny how i am the only one posing in this one!! hehe :)

August 2008 Golf Tournament

Katie Clark, Abbie Thompson, and I all played Jr. Golf this year. It was fun, but was a little bothersome by the end. On August 4th, there was a tournament. We knew that nothing would come of it, but decided to end with a bang! Here are some pictures!

This is me VERY focused (one of the only times it happened) good thing we caught it on camera!! :)

The best part was, none of us were really that skilled, so we just had a blast!!

Does any one know why Jamie and Abbie have a tees in their mouths?? :)

Our amazingly stunning score keeper. We had to have someone that want playing keep score, and mom, as always, stepped up to the responsibility. It was great because she just sat and read and marked scores when we relayed the to her. There was no pressure at all. Your the best!!

Welcome home Elder Murray!
( sorry- totally old news!) Anyway- after Blaine came home, we went to see Jena and do a little school shopping. Blaine wanted to stop at the conference center and do a tour. They actually let us on the roof this time! it is so pretty! Better then i remember! It is so good to have him home!! I LOVE it!

Tonight we ( i guess it was the football team) won our first game in 2 years!!!it was against IF high school. It is so exciting!! It was a little sad- the first game that Dad and i have missed in 2 years, they win! ( that explains why i dont have any pictures from the game) :)
Oh and by the way- i am a knight now!! i started high school on August 21, 2008. it scares me to death to think that i am in high school! But at the same time i get to stand in the "student section" at the football games, and it is a blast to do all the 'socialness' that comes with it! Not to mention choir with Mrs. Blackburn or SEMIN AIRY!!!

For mutual on Tuesday, we went to Blacktail for the annual boating trip. It was a blast!! There were three boats there this time, so if you wanted to, you didn't have to get off accept to trade boats, and Jessica did just that. That is a picture of her when she finally came in for some food. :)

So last night, Blaine and I were watching a show on food network, and it showed this lady who was making this funky french toast. She called it Captain Crunch toast. And, it was just that. So we kept watching and it showed her making it. We, being out curious selves, decided to try it and see if it was any good. You make your regular french toast goop and dip your toast into it. Then, instead of going strait to the pan, you dip it in slightly crunched up captain crunch. Then to the pan. You have to push it down with the spatula to cook the actual bread. With the heat, the sugar in the cereal caramelizes, but stays crunchy. I haven't ever tasted anything like it. It is divine!!! Try it and let me know what you think!

Gem State Classic!

On February 22 &23 we had a competition at BYUI. We competied our swing (Tailfeather) and our Waltz (sleep). We placed 4th with the Waltz and 2nd with our Swing! My partner was Nick Hamiln. The annual Gem State Classic is the biggest pure youth (only people unter 18 competing) in the world! It was sooo cool! There were people there from everywhere!! ( the last picture is of us all freeking our as they are anouncing the winners!)

On February 23rd, We did a huge dance preformance at the Civic with over 400 dancers involved! It was amazing. They ranged in ages from 3 to 18 i think was the oldest group. It was crazyness as we were all running around trying to get costumes of and make up and all that jazz. But, I love the rush of being on the stage, the bright lights and the music blairing! We danced Shake your tail feather from the movie Chicken Little. It was a blast! our costumes got in just in time it was such a blast!! We are starting a new waltz routine that we are hoping to have done by the end of February. We are having saturday practices until then. Yuck!
